Take a Stand campaign
Have you ever heard about the Take a Stand movement?
Lots of festivals across Europe has already joined this idealistic project and non-profit movement so if you have recently attended festivals like Lollapalooza Berlin, Sziget, Pohoda, Roskilde and a long etcetera perhaps you know what Im talking about thanks to its very representative yellow color or its photo booths.
Take a Stand is a joint initiative by Yourope (Association of European Music Festivals) and its partners. It's a campaign with a mission to keep our society intelligent and human encouraging social cohesion, promoting awareness and tolerance for all cultures, genders, races, religions, sexual orientations, colors and origins. To motivate people to participate in politics and social activities, speaking up for peaceful dialogue, humanism, tolerance and mutual understanding, to make the world a better place for every single individual and for all of us.
The European Festival Awards, with over 800,000 votes and more than 350 festivals taking part from 50 different European countries is the premier event for recognising the industry’s collective achievements and since its 2018 edition, includes the Take a Stand award.
In the last edition, it was Pohoda festival who proudly won the award. The jury appreciated the long-term approach of the festival to sensitive social issues, especially the reaction to the tragedy of February last year – the murder of the journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancé Martina Kušnírová.
Lets join the movement and encourage everyone to speak up, be active, be open minded, tolerate, respect and show solidarity.
