'Music & Pizza'
If we have learned something these last months, it is that it is possible to live without culture. But also that by doing so, our lives are much worse. So if times of crisis are also times of opportunity, I hope that after this endless period we will see many new proposals that will make us enjoy music more strongly.
As for me, for more than two years now I have been writing about music more or less regularly here on festnoise. Although it’s been for a much longer time that I've gotten involved in music in some other ways. And now, it is with great excitement that I can finally present ‘Music & Pizza’. An event that started with a conversation with a friend while having a few beers on an any cold night of this last Winter. An event that after a few grayish months, hopefully it will fill Sundays with color.
The idea of it is simple. ‘Music & Pizza’ is a monthly event in which to enjoy an exclusive concert of our favorite artists in a unique location of Berlin and share true Neapolitan pizza with the musicians and other guests after the concert.
But ‘Music & Pizza’ is more than a concert, it’s a concert experience. An event to enjoy the music of selected fine artists together with a small group of people like you. An opportunity for the artists to play for an intimate audience. The chance for us to enjoy our favorite songs in an exclusive format and get to know the “people behind the artists''.
In ‘Music & Pizza’ the venue plays an important role. In this way, the event takes place in an impressive loft located in a former factory from the 1910’s that retains its historical charm. Situated in the heart of the Wedding district, the space known as ‘La Cucina’ is part of Fabrik23. A set of renovated spaces awarded by Architectural Digest for its impressive interior design that perfectly represents the spirit of Berlin.
And if the location is important, so is the food. And is there any better than pizza? That’s why we’ve counted with Standard, probably the best Neapolitan pizza in Berlin.
With two months to go, there are already three confirmed events in September, October and November with the bands The Flavians (September) and teepee (October) for the first two dates. While I’m still waiting to be able to confirm the name of the band for the third event in November, the idea is that if all goes well, the event will continue every month.
And speaking about the bands. It’d be better to stay quiet and let their music speak but for those who do not know them yet, let me just say that The Flavians is an amazing band drawing inspiration from the warm, nostalgic sounds of the Sixties and the frantic, hedonistic energy of Berlin. The band blends three distinct voices with psychedelic guitar textures, barroom piano and pounding drums to create surreal yet grounded, accessible, melodic and experimental songs. And teepee offers soulful vocal harmonies and captivating melodies that help capture the magic between Tera and Mira, who with their shows aim to create a welcoming and safer space, a parallel world where you can stop for a moment and let go.
In all honesty, I can't be more proud, excited and satisfied to count with both of them as part of ‘Music & Pizza’. And now the most important thing, are you in?
Tickets for the first event with The Flavians go on sale on Monday July 12th and tickets for the second event with teepee will go on sale on August 16th. For all the info and tickets please visit: musicandpizza.com
