8 Reasons to attend Mallorca Live Festival
I've just done the count and it's 999 days today since the last festival I was at. Exactly since 5 September 2019. Needless to say, I can't wait to see a bracelet on my wrist again. And like me, there are many of us who, after two difficult years are impatiently waiting for the festival season to begin.
And speaking of which, I'm sure you have marked in your calendar the dates of those festivals that you are not going to miss, but do you know the Mallorca Live Festival? On the 24th, 25th and 26th of June a new edition of the festival will be held in Mallorca. Since its first edition in 2016, this festival has done nothing but grow and has many things that make it the perfect choice to welcome a summer that promises to be unforgettable.
I'm not going to miss it, and you? Take a look below the video at some reasons to attend!
01. The Music
With the likes of Metronomy, Muse, Blessed Madonna, Justice and many others, the Mallorca Live Festival speaks by itself. But if you come from abroad there may be other names not that familiar to you but that you shouldn’t miss. I bet that you've watched the amazing C Tangana's Tiny Desk concert that he later repeated at the Grammys. That's right, he’ll be at MLF and you definitely shouldn't miss his performance. Still not your cup of tea? Then don't miss Izal in one of their last concerts before their members go their separate ways.
02. The Schedule
In Europe we are used to festivals starting very early but in Spain things can be taken very easy sometimes. That's why when you´ll wake up during the festival you'll still have time to go to the beach, try a new restaurant by the sea and go to the festival only once the hangover is in the books. So get in the mood and don't be surprised if your favorite artist is scheduled after midnight.
03. The Beaches
We often insist on traveling for hours to go to remote beaches, as if the further away we go, the better the beach is guaranteed to be. And yet we forget that there are those who take the opposite route. The truth is that no matter where you live, Mallorca is just a short distance away and it has a countless number of beaches with crystal clear water.
04. The Lineup
There are plenty of festivals where you can brag about the latest artist you have found and see who's the most indie among all your friends, but this is one festival you can go to with any of your friends, both the indie ones and those you wouldn't normally try to convince to go to Glastonbury with you. The Mallorca Live Festival line-up is a colorful mix of indie, rock, electronic and hip hop and includes some of the most colorful names on the bill.
05. The Size
Some festivals are so big that you need a map and several days to discover every corner of them. At Mallorca Live Festival, despite having grown from 8,000 people at its first edition in 2016 to more than 25,000 in the last one, that doesn't happen. And what a pleasure it is sometimes to have everything at your fingertips and not to wake up the next day and have your phone tell you that you walked 20km the night before. So if on friday you meet the love of your life and yet you don't dare to ask for his or her number, don't worry, you're sure gonna get another chance the next day. Of course, this is a two-way street, so don't mess up because you won't have anywhere to hide either!
06. The Location
Mallorca is usually chosen as the best place to live, and there’s a reason for it. If you just know the island because of Magaluf…you should not only question your choices but also give it another try. Mallorca is easy going, friendly, affordable, it is well located and it has great mountains and an amazing coastline. But if that’s not enough, Mallorca has an extraordinary culture, amazing gastronomy and fine wines. So this festival could be a great opportunity to not only have a lot of fun but also explore the island.
07. The Sun
Mud festivals are only enjoyable when they are remembered among friends. So don't worry because at Mallorca Live Festival you won't have to check the weather forecast every morning. You're going to have good weather! And good weather is not what you are used to where you live (e.g. Berlin). In Mallorca it means blue skies and temperatures above 30 degrees with sunshine that every morning will make you curse every drop of alcohol you drank the night before.
08. The Vibe
If none of the above has convinced you and you just want to have a good time, meet people and have a good party, you're in the right place because in Spain, if there's one thing people do well, it's celebrate. Whatever it is because there is always a reason to celebrate!
The Mallorca Live Festival will take place on June 24th, 25th and 26th in Mallorca (Spain). More information and tickets directly at the festival's official website.
