20 years of Coachella festival
Coachella might not be happening in April as originally scheduled but while we're locked at home at least we'll have the chance to relive the festival with the documentary “Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert” (trailer below) that will premiere tomorrow Friday, April 10th at 12:00PM PT (9:00PM Berlin time) on YouTube. Exactly the day which would have been the first day of the festival before having to be postponed to October due to the Coronavirus worldwide crisis.
The film gives a rare look at Coachella’s colorful beginning, presents exclusive, never seen before footage, interviews, and features key performances from some of the biggest names in music. “Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert” features two decades in the making, and it opens up the vault for the very first time to present the performances and behind the scenes stories that shaped the music festival.
20 editions in 20 years since the festival started in 1999 (you can check all past edition lineups below), and although the Californian festival may have lost status on the international scene, appearing on its lineup remains a milestone of remarkable proportions for any artist and it is also a unique experience for anyone visiting the festival. After more than 2400 performances there are endless memorable moments that are undoubtedly already part of the history of live music (discover 5 epic moments in the history of Coachella in this past article).
Definitely a good plan for another Friday night of confinement and social distancing. You can watch for free the full documentary tomorrow Friday, April 10th at 12:00PM PT (9:00PM Berlin time) by clicking here.
Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has been rescheduled in 2020 due to the corona virus crisis and will take place between October 9th -11th and 16th - 18th. Visit the official website of the Coachella festival for more information.
