Rage Against...Who?

Rage Against...Who?

Last Monday February 10th, Lollapalooza Berlin finally revealed the recently reunited Rage Against The Machine as its first headliner, and in a short time, the social networks of the festival were filled with messages from many festival attendees, who simply seemed to understand absolutely nothing, in a mixture of bewilderment, surprise and of course musical ignorance and very little shame to show it in public.

But the truth is that since they had their first public performance in somebody's living room in Orange County (California) back in 1991, the career of Rage Against The Machine has been long and certainly very successful. RATM released their eponymous debut album already in 1992 turning immediately into a commercial and critical success, and they made their first Lollapalooza appearance in 1993, shortly after the festival was conceived and created (first edition took place in 1991) by Jane's Addiction singer Perry Farrell as a farewell tour for his band.

One the most popular, political and influential bands in music history, RATM was however disbanded in 2000 after singer Zack De La Rocha left the band due to creative differences and other band members formed Audioslave with Chris Cornell (former Soundgarden). Reunited again in 2007 to play in Coachella, RATM was disbanded again in 2009 and Tom Morello, probably one the best guitarist of all times, formed Prophets of Rage in 2016. 2020 marks a new reunion that leads into a long tour and a new appearance at the Coachella festival.

Despite the confusion of some fans, surely we are thousands more counting the remaining days for Lollapalooza, an urban festival that has in values such as inclusion, tolerance, respect and an obvious mix of musical genres, its foundations as a festival.

The 6th edition of Lollapalooza festival in Berlin (Germany) will take place in Olympiastadion & Olympiapark between September 5th and 6th, 2020. Get more information visiting its official website.
