Flaming Lips’ Space Bubble live show
In recent days there has been a music live show that has not stopped appearing in the press since many media have echoed the Space Bubble show, which is how The Flaming Lips have baptized the concerts held in their hometown, Oklahoma City.
Like a joke in poor taste, for some media the future of music seems to be that. But truth to be told, Wayne Coyne, the multifaceted artist with a psychedelic personality and thinking head of The Flaming Lips, has spent years crowd surfing inside a giant bubble. The coronavirus has only taken the performance to another level, resulting in concerts that thanks to the restrictions, seem to be tailor-made for the American band. As a live music show, I have more than doubts but as a marketing campaign to appear in the media without investing not even one euro, simply great.
Beyond the anecdote of the show, there is not much else to add. The audience attended the show inside bubbles with a capacity of up to three people with enough oxygen to last one hour and ten minutes, and equipped with a speaker, a fan, water and towels. And Flaming Lips played inside individual bubbles.
Great for Flaming Lips, but may the normal shows come back soon please!
