Discover Pferdefest
Nowadays music festivals are a trend. We see new festivals appearing every Summer with lineups including big names that attracts thousands of people. Pure business but no identity. If we look back to the oldest ones (Roskilde, Glastonbury, Sziget, ...) despite today being festivals of colossal dimensions, they all share modest origins but especially, they all have a story to tell.
Like these major festivals, the Pferdefest festival has its own history. Based in the Mosel valley (West of Germany), land of exquisite wines and idyllic landscapes, the New York Times included it among the main tourist destinations in the world in 2016 and the National Geographic ranked it as one of the 17 most romantic places in the world, This particular festival started in 2007, when a group of friends, forced to emigrate to other cities to study and work, made themselves the promise of each summer organizing a party for them and their friends, and the friends of these friends and thus preserve the friendship. Twelve editions later, that small gathering of friends has gradually matured, and despite retaining the initial charm and continuing to be a small-sized festival, today it has become a weekend event whose name begins to sound beyond the valley itself.
The festival is pure fun and good vibes. There is an amazing wine and the prices are cheap. Everyone is friend of a friend and everybody dress in an eccentric and fun way. Because, although it is not mandatory, for Pferdefest you have to look for a crazy costume, look in your grandmother's closet, dress as you want or simply get naked on the stage with Meneo, one of the regulars djs to this festival that always turn his session into a very crazy party!
The festival has grown, so have its artists (Alice Phoebe Lou, Retrogott & Hulk Hodn, Hush Moss, Le Gros Tube, Spasm, Cuthead, etc ...), but at Pferdefest do not expect to see big names in the lineup, the festival is not about that. It does not only want to be a rave, hip hop, punk, disco or rock concert, it also wants everything to be possible there. Attendees must be open to other genres and subcultures, which is generally achieved through a careful selection of performances, which never leave anyone indifferent. It is certainly a festival full of humor, where to celebrate tolerance, respect, nature, and in which the inclusion of people with disabilities has always had a leading role.
Believe me, Pferdefest is a great festival. So if you have never been, mark it in red on your calendar and start convincing your friends. The next edition will be held between August 7th and 10th, and the early bird tickets have just been released a week ago.
